Nissan X-Trail Hybrid India Debut - 2016 Auto Expo

Nissan has unveiled the hybrid version of the third-generation X-Trail SUV for the first time in India at the 2016 Auto Expo. Nissan India will launch this petrol hybrid SUV in the Indian market later this year.

Featuring new design language and built on the new Common Module Family (CMF) platform, the next-generation X-Trail is all set to take on its new competitors in India.

This five-seater SUV features a hybrid system that consists of a 2.0-litre MR20DD petrol powertrain that makes up to 14h hp and 207 Nm of torque along with an electric motor that generates an additional 40 hp and 160 Nm of torque. Paired with a CVT gearbox, the new SUV is more powerful and fuel-efficient than its predecessor. Expect a mileage of more than 20 kmpl.

The new X-Trail is based on the Renault-Nissan Common Module Family (CMF) platform
While the new car is based on the Renault-Nissan alliance CMF platform, it is 90 kgs lighter and more stronger than its predecessor. It has also grown 17mm longer than the previous generation, and has a 76mm longer wheelbase. Design wise, the new X-Trail realises beyond the squared-off styling of the out-going model. The body surface is both smooth and muscular, and the dripping roofline and rising window line is also new.

Nissan is expected to pack this new SUV with goodies such as Active Engine Brake, Traction and Ride Control, Cruise Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Assist and 4 airbags. A 7-inch infotainment system is also on the list.

Nissan X-Trail: Only Hybrid version will be available in India
Once launched, the new Nissan X-Trail will take on the likes of the new Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Chevy Trailblazer, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, and the Honda CR-V.
