Featuring a full-electric drive-train that runs with absolutely no emissions, the Ultra Electric is packed with tons of attractive goodies, both inside and outside including the exterior design.
As evident with the nameplate, the Ultra Electric bus has been built on the popular Ultra MCV (Medium Commercial Vehicle) trucks platform. Targeting the urban commutation requirements, the bus has been flexibly designed to suit the needs of staff, school and general city transportation, says the company. With a low floor design of just 650 mm, the mini bus also sports large window panes and wider door for easy flow of passengers - a must in stop-start urban scenario.

Interestingly, the Ultra electric boasts utility provisions such as on-board charging ports and WiFi hotspot, Passenger Information System with destination boards, and provisions for audio announcements. For passenger security, there are CCTV cameras and an Intelligence Transport Systems (ITS) for public information, enabled through GPS via electronic destination display boards, indicating expected time of arrival
at bus stops and route announcements within the bus.

In terms of the exterior styling, the all-electric city bus is more like an apocryphal thing that is hard to believe. The design and decorative elements of the bus are so elegant and futuristic, take for instance the voguish headlamps and tail lamps with LED-DRLs, muscular frontal grille nicely integrated with the windscreen, frisky side mirrors, or the multi-tone paint job that is reflected in all accessory elements including the wheel caps. The concept has been fully designed by the Tata's in-house design team.

Tata Motors did not reveal the technical and powertrain specifications of the concept, yet all we know is that there is clutch-less and gear-shift-free driving, along with reduced NVH (Noise-Vibration-Harshness) levels and maintenance.
